how to remove extra space bet slideshow and content

Can anyone tell me how I can remove the extra space between the slideshow images and the main content? I want to place it next to each other.
Here is the space I want to remove.


 Using firebug  is not helping either.... is the preface-top-wrapper controlling this? Thanks in advance
