To create a slideshow block

We used jQuery plugin to display slideshow which included in Alphorn Theme and View, CCK, ImageCache modules to create content of slideshow. You can download those module at drupal.org.

To create a slideshow block you only follow steps below:

  1. Use ImageCache to create slideshow preset for image on slides
  2. Create content slideshow type and add image field for it. Go to admin/User management/permissions to set permission for image field which you've created.
  3. Add several slideshow nodes.
  4. Create a slideshow view.
    • Add a view with view type ‘node’.
    • In Fields section: select ‘Content:Image’; ‘Node:body’. In Format of ‘Content:Image’: select ‘slideshow image’.
    • In Filters section: add ‘Node: Published’=yes and ‘Node: Type’ = slideshow.
    • Add a Block display on this view.
  5. Add slideshow block to slideshow position.

The slideshow will show on your site.You can change the effect of slide in theme/alphorn/js/custom.js file. And please click here to learn more about jQuery.

This seems simple to do! I thought this would be a bit more difficult. This is a big dissertation help to yours truly.

Making Banner (Slideshow) Bigger

How do you go about changing the banner size from 200px to 340px?

I tried to change the default-style.css #banner height to 340px, but the banner height did not change.

Figured it out

You must also edit
#st_wrapper_slogan .block .content {
padding:0px;
height:340px;
}

I can not solve

Please write down the solution step by spleen. I can not solve. Thank you.

Dear Site Admin, Let me start

Dear Site Admin,

Let me start off by saying thank you for such a wonderful theme, as well as your informative forums.  You have definitely helped me in my journey to become a web designer.

After reviewing your slider tutorial, I have successfully been able to load a slideshow of images.  My issue is that I am unsure how to finish step 4 of the slider tutorial:

Step 4: Create a javascript file, add it in theme_folder and add scripts[] = myscript.js to file .info (Don't forget clear cache befor you refresh your browser).

This is basic demo code:

$(document).ready(function() {      $('#st_slogan .view-content').cycle({           fx: 'scrollLeft'; // You can change the effect at this line      }); });

 I am new to programming and not sure how to implement the code, what changes are required for the "basic demo code" for it to work for my site, and where the ".info" file is to make changes.

I would appreciate any help you could lend.

Sincerely

John

 Ok, so I have figured this out...pretty simple.  My issue now is that my slider images are located down and to the right of the "slogan block" location.  Everything else is perfect.  Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to fix this?

 I have solved this.  My error was that I was loading my images through html coding instead of through the image field in the Slideshow Node pages.  Thanks for such an amazing theme.  I will be sure to buy themes from you once I am a little more experienced!

Using Frontpage Slideshow on Drupal

 Frontpage Slideshow is a picture slideshow add-on that was originally designed for Joomla, however, the company that created it has released a static version that can be used on any website that primarily uses PHP. Frontpage Slideshow is a nice, easy way to give your website's look a fresh, dynamic edge.

How can I use frontpage slideshow on Drupal? have anybody advice?

Eliza
